Hey lovelies!

I want to thank all of you who popped by for my stop of the Plum and June New Blogger Blog Hop. I am definately feeling the love. Stay tuned for weekly snaps of the participating blogs.

To those of you who are newly joining us from the Hop, welcome! Great to have you here!

So many of you commented on how much you loved my ironing board cover, so I wrote a tutorial for you so you can make one too!

You can find it for free Here as a Google Doc or Here on Craftsty.

I'd love any feedback on the pattern and if you do make one I'd love to see your finished product!

Hope your weekend has been awesome!

  1. The cover is gorgeous. I have always wondered if the seams in the cover affect the ironing? Can they be felt?

    1. Hi Ali, Tahnsk for your feedback. The seams don't affect my ironing at all, I cant feel them. I think the only thing that may affect ironing would the the style of quilting you use. I have stipled the scrappy squares section, and I don't use this for ironing often because ou can feel the quilting. On the Herringtbone section, I have just done some straight line quilting which doesn't affect ironing at all :)

  9. i have seen tehis before and actually have done it. My only suggestions are to press your seam open on the quilt design to make it thinner and less likely to creat bumps or ridges and prewash the fabric, several times, if you use the vivid colors.. I had one with a red fabric and had dye transfer to the garment I was ironing with steam setting. After that, I made one with only pastel or calico light colors.

    1. Thanks Liz! I usually press my seams open, and I can't feel them when ironing :)

  10. I just love my ironing board cover. I changed the design to fit a larger board. My herringbone pattern goes in reverse to the top herringbone. I also left out the checkered board at the bottom. Thank you for this pattern. It was so fun to make.
