Working on my Crochet Skills - Free Patterns

I mentioned earlier this year that I had taught myself how to crochet. This was a huge moment for me because I was resigned to the fact that it was  something that I just couldn't 'get'. But I proved myself wrong, and I had another go, and fair to say, I am hooked! (mind the pun)
YouTube, Lion Brand Yarn App and the myriad of tutorials I found on pinterest were my go to places when I got stuck. Check out my Knit, Yarn Crochet Pinterest Board for my favourite tutorials and sources of inspiration.

The thing I love most about crochet, is that it makes garment making so easy due to the versatility of the way your work grows and the lack of reliance on keeping your stitches on a needle like knitting. So with a new bubba on the way for a family member, what a better opportunity to have a go at making some clothes.

This was so easy to whip up, you make each panel and then assemble each and finish with a border. You can find the Pattern Here. It comes from the amazing resource of free knit and crochet patterns that is the Yarnspirations website.

Of course I couldn't not make some booties to go with it. Pattern found here. And how cute is this little thing! This bubba Kitten come from a pattern for two different Kitten toys. Found on Craftsy.

  2. I really enjoyed your pinterest page. Lately I've been knitting, but I'm about ready to dive into crochet. I learned a very long time ago but haven't picked up a crochet hook in years. Your post was really inspiring. Thanks!
